Research Release: Childcare Licensing in Kansas

Join United WE on December 12 for a virtual research release to announce findings from a new study on childcare licensing in the state of Kansas. United WE commissioned research with the Institute for Policy & Social Research and the Kansas Population Center at the University of Kansas about the childcare licensing process and challenges that may interfere with adequate access to childcare and potential solutions to improve the situation.

During the webinar, we will discuss:

  • The current dynamics of childcare licensing in Kansas

  • Economic development and childcare

  • Childcare licensing policy recommendations

Additionally, as part of the National Women’s Entrepreneur Childcare Initiative, United WE commissioned a nationwide research study to examine the regulatory burden faced by childcare providers in the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

  • Describe current child care demand and supply in Missouri

  • Describe the child care licensing process at the state and local level and identify challenges

  • Offer policy and practice considerations to improve the initial childcare licensing process as a strategy to increase access to childcare

Research Release: Understanding Access and Barriers to Childcare in Oklahoma

United WE commissioned researchers from the College of Education and Human Sciences and the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University to explore barriers to childcare access in Oklahoma. On November 12, United WE will host a virtual research release to announce findings from the study to provide a clear picture of the barriers childcare providers face when going through the licensing process. The report findings will illustrate significant strengths and opportunities for growth in the delivery of quality childcare experiences for Oklahoma’s children.
