United WE, a nonpartisan nonprofit that works to advance all women’s economic and civic leadership, is pleased to announce the hiring of Tatiana Darby, MPH as Institute and Studio Manager. In this newly created role, Darby will lead and support the execution of United WE’s signature research and policy initiatives while helping to grow the organization’s engagement and storytelling efforts.

Darby brings more than seven years of experience leading collaborative research strategies, engaging underrepresented communities, and advancing impact-focused solutions. Most recently, she served as Strategy Consultant at Openfields, where she led a statewide initiative to support community-driven research on firearm violence, co-designed regional needs assessments, and facilitated leadership initiatives for women seeking public appointments. Previously, she spent more than four years at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she led population health research projects, fostered strategic partnerships between academic institutions and government public health agencies, and spearheaded strategic planning for a range of public health initiatives.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tatiana to the United WE team,” said Wendy Doyle, president & CEO of United WE. “Her cross-sector experience and deep commitment to civic engagement and gender parity will be a tremendous asset as we continue to scale our impact and strengthen connections between our research, policy, and community engagement work.”

As Institute and Studio Manager, Darby will coordinate and implement key initiatives within “The Institute,” including United WE’s policy coalitions, town halls, and the Appointments Project®. She will also serve as a key connector between The Institute’s research and development of “The Studio,” ensuring insights from community engagement and policy work inform broader organizational strategy.

Darby holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in International Studies and Spanish. She has held multiple leadership roles with coalitions and advisory boards in Kansas and Missouri and is recognized for her skill in building partnerships and participatory evaluation.

“I’m honored to join United WE at such an exciting time in its evolution,” said Darby. “I’ve long admired United WE’s commitment to elevating women’s voices and advancing meaningful policy change. I look forward to helping connect research, strategy, and community insight to break down barriers for women and improve the overall economy.”

Tatiana’s first involvement with United WE was in 2012-2013 through the Rachel Alexandra Girls Grant Program, a leadership program that empowered teen girls to explore advocacy and philanthropy by directing real grant dollars to local, women-focused organizations.
